10 Jar Meal Recipes - Using THRIVE Foods


I have been researching and testing different recipes using THRIVE Food.  Here

are 10 of my favorite Meal in a Jar recipes so far. Enjoy!

 
 
10 Jar Meal Recipes – Using THRIVE Foods


Buffalo Chicken and Rice Jar Meal

Layer in Quart jar in the order listed;

1 ½ cups Thrive Instant Rice-put in a separate bag

¾ cup of Thrive celery

¼ cup Basic Sauce Mix – see recipe on last page

1 Tbsp of Ranch Seasoning – see recipe on last page

2 tsp of McCormick Fiery 5 pepper seasoning

½ cup of Thrive dehydrated carrots

1 ¼ cup of Thrive FD Chicken chunks

 

To prepare your meal;

In a large skillet bring 4 cups of water to boil add contents of jar minus the instant rice.  Simmer for 10 minutes then add rice.  Remove from heat and let stand for 10 minutes.  Serve with hot sauce on the side for anyone wanting it to be hotter spice. 

 

 

Chicken Broccoli Alfredo Jar Meal

 

1 cup of Thrive FD Chicken

1 cup of Thrive Broccoli

1/3 cup Basic Sauce Mix – see last page

¼  cup Parmesan dry cheese

¼ cup Romano dry cheese

3 Tablespoons Thrive Sour Cream Powder

¼  teaspoon Pepper

1 ½ cups Broken up Fettuccine Noodles

 

  In a one Quart Jar layer Chicken, Broccoli, add basic sauce mix and shake it down do the same with the cheeses, sour cream powder and pepper. Shake it down into the jar so there is room for the noodles. Add Noodles. With a paper towel or a dry dish towel wipe off the rim of the jar and add an oxygen absorber. Place lid on jar and store in a cool dry place.

 

  To prepare your  meal;

  In a skillet add four cups of hot water add your jar meal and stir together well let set for 10 minutes. Bring it to a boil then reduce heat to low cover and let simmer for 20 to 25 minutes until noodles are tender.

 

Chicken Broccoli Stir-Fry Jar Meal

 

1 cup of Thrive FD Chicken

½ cup Chicken stir-fry sauce seasoning mix - recipe to right

1 cup Thrive Broccoli

¼ cup Dehydrated Thrive Carrots

2 TBSP Thrive Chopped Onions

½ Cup Thrive FD Green Peppers

1 ½ Cup Thrive Instant Rice

 

Layer ingredients in a one quart jar in the order listed...Add oxygen absorber or vacuum seal the jar.

 

To Make

Add 5 cups of water to a skillet and bring to a boil. Add Jar meal and mix well turn off the heat and let rest for 10 minutes. After your rest period simmer for 20 to 25 minutes covered.

 

Chicken Broccoli Stir-Fry Jar Meal cont’d

 

Chicken Stir-Fry Seasoning Mix – This makes approx 2 recipes

 

¼  cup Thrive Chicken Bouillon

3 TBSP Corn Starch

2 TBSP Sugar

2 TBSP dried minced Onion

2 teaspoons dried Parsley

½  teaspoon Ground Ginger

¼  teaspoon Crushed Dried Red Pepper flakes

 

 

 CHILI MAC Jar Meal


¾ cup Thrive FD Ground Beef

1 ½ cup Thrive Macaroni (uncooked) 
½ cup Thrive Tomato Powder 

½ cup Basic Sauce Mix – See recipe on last page

1 TBSP Taco Seasoning – See recipe on last page

½ cup Thrive Instant Red Beans

 

To prepare your meal;

Combine all ingredients in a skillet with 5 1/2 cups of water and

Simmer 20 minutes or until macaroni is cooked.  Stir occasionally

while cooking. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Ham Pasta Jar Meal

 

2 cups pasta – Shell or Bow Tie

1 cup Thrive Peas

1/3 cup Thrive Cheese Blend

½ cup of Basic Sauce Mix – See recipe on last page

¼ cup Thrive Butter Powder

1 cup Thrive FD Ham  

1 T Thrive Dehydrated Onion

1 tsp Italian Seasonings

½ cup Thrive Mushroom Pieces

 

To Prepare your meal:

In a large skillet, combine contents of jar with 5 cups hot water over high heat and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer 10-12 minutes stir every few minutes. Turn off heat and let sit 3-5 minutes.

 Hamburger Stroganoff Jar Meal


1 cup FD Ground Beef

2 cups Thrive uncooked Egg Noodles

½ cup Basic Sauce Mix – see recipe on last page

½ cup Thrive Sour Cream powder

½ cup of Thrive Mushroom pieces


To prepare your meal;

In a large skillet combine all ingredients with 5 cups of water.  Bring to a boil and simmer 20 minutes or until noodles are tender.

Potato Beef and Veggie Jar Meal

 
2 Cups Thrive dehydrated Potato Chunks

1 cup FD Ground Beef

½ cup Basic Sauce Mix – see recipe below

1 TBSP Ranch Seasoning – see recipe below

½ tsp Black Pepper
1 ½ cup Thrive FD mixed veggies (corn, peas, green beans)

Combine all ingredients with 5 cups of water.  Bring to a simmer and cover until potatoes are tender, about 30 minutes stirring occasionally. Remove cover and cook until excess water is evaporated.

Saucy Ziti with Meat and Mushrooms Jar Meal

 

Put the following items in a quart jar (use a wide mouth funnel):

 

2/3 cup Thrive Tomato Powder

1/3 cup Thrive dehydrated onion

1 T Italian Seasoning

1/3 cup Thrive FD Sausage

2/3 cup Thrive FD Ground Beef

1 ½ cups Ziti – (or any other pasta)

1/3 cup Thrive FD Mushroom Pieces

2/3 cup Thrive FD Mozzarella cheese (in a snack baggie)

 

Top with an oxygen packet for longer term storage (Good on the shelf

in a cool place up to 5-7 years), top with a new canning lid and hand tighten the metal band ring.

 

Directions: Place contents of jar (except for cheese) in a covered skillet or pot with 5 ½ c water. Simmer 15-20 minutes until pasta is tender and sauce is thick. (Solar oven 30-40 minutes covered). Place contents of cheese bag in a bowl and spray lightly with water. Sit for 5 minutes. Uncover cooked pasta mixture. Top with cheese. Cover again and allow cheese to melt, about 5 minutes.

Scalloped Potatoes and Ham Jar Meal

 

2 cups Thrive dehydrated Potatoes Chunks

¼ Cup Thrive Cheese Blend

1/3 cup Basic Sauce Mix – see recipe below

1/3 cup Thrive Powdered Milk

3 Tbsp Thrive Butter Powder

½ tsp of Black Pepper

2 Tbsp Thrive Dehydrated Onions

¾ Cup of Thrive FD Ham

¼  Cup Thrive FD Green Bell Peppers

¼ Cup Thrive FD Red Bell Peppers

 

Place these ingredients into a one quart jar, add Oxygen absorber.  Place lid on jar and store in a cool dry place until ready to use.

 

To prepare meal

Pour the Scalloped potatoes Jar meal into a 12 inch deep skillet with lid.  Add 6 cups of cool water.  Stir well with whisk and bring to a slow boil over medium heat.  Once boiling, lower heat to very low for 15 minutes.  Stir every few minutes.  After 15 minutes, turn off heat.  Cover pan and let sit for 10 minutes.  All the potatoes and ham should be tender.  Top with additional cheese if desired.

Spanish Rice Jar Meal

 

Recipe for Each Quart Jar – Layer in this order:
1 cup Thrive FD Ground Beef

1  ½ Cup Thrive Long Grain Rice

½ cup of Thrive FD Sausage Crumbles
1/3 cup Thrive Tomato Powder
1 Tbsp + 1 tsp of Taco Seasoning Mix – see recipe below
¼ cup Thrive FD Red Pepper

¼ cup Thrive FD Green Pepper
½ cup. Thrive Dehydrated onion


Directions: Put into Oven Safe Casserole pot with a lid. Add about 6 cups of hot water. Stir. Put into a preheated oven set to 350.  This will take about 30-45 minutes to prepare.  Check at 30 minutes, stir and return to oven till done.  Serve with Cornbread for a special treat.

Basic Sauce Mix – Need to make 9 batches to complete all meals using this mix x 12 meals

 

2 Cups Thrive Powder Non-Fat Dry Milk

1 cup Corn Starch

1/4 Cup Thrive Chicken Bullion Powder

2 Tbsp Thrive Dry Onion Flakes

2 teaspoons Italian Seasoning

1 tsp. Black Pepper

1 tsp. Garlic Powder

 

Mix well together in a #10 can – put lid on and shake to mix.  Store in a Quart Mason jar and label.

 
Taco Seasoning – need to make 3 batches to complete all meals using this mix x 12 meals
1/2 cup chili powder 1/4 cup onion powder 1/8 cup ground cumin 1 tablespoon garlic powder 1 tablespoon paprika 1 tablespoon sea salt
Put ingredients into a jar and shake.
Ranch Seasoning – need to make 3 batches to complete all meals using this mix x 12 meals
5 tablespoons dried minced onions
7 teaspoons parsley flakes
4 teaspoons salt
1 teaspoon garlic powder
Mix together and store in an air tight container.
For dressing:
Mix 2 tablespoons dry mix with 1 cup mayonnaise and 1 cup buttermilk or sour cream.
For dip:
Mix 2 tablespoons dry mix with 2 cups sour cream.
Mix up a few hours before serving, so the flavors all blend.

Next is a listing of items needed to purchase the THRIVE food items for all 10

recipes x 12.  This would be 120 meals for 4 adults.  You are able to save alot of

money purchasing the food this way as many of the recipes use the same

products so you won't have to buy a #10 can for each recipe.  You will also have

product left over for other recipes too.  Also, I did not figure in the Thrive food

for the mixes.  Powdered Milk, Bullion, and Onion - Add 2 #10 cans of powdered

milk, 1 #10 can of Bullion, and there will be enough onions in order below.
